AXA Health launches neurodiversity support service for employers

AXA Health has launched a new workplace support service to help employers understand and support neurodivergent staff, delivered in partnership with digital health provider Peppy.
The service, called neurodiversity everyday support, is aimed at the whole workforce rather than just those with a formal diagnosis, and does not require a diagnosis to access. It combines educational content, self-assessment tools and clinician-led coaching for employees with practical guidance for employers on adjustments and workplace culture.
Around 15% of people in the UK are thought to be neurodivergent. However, only 32% to 38% of neurodivergent employees feel psychologically safe to be themselves at work, according to City & Guilds’ 2026 Neurodiversity Index. Many neurodiverse staff continue to face misunderstanding, stigma and a lack of tailored support, which can affect how they perform and how included they feel.
What support is included?
Employees and their nominated person (both must be 18 or over) can access expert-led courses, articles and weekly live events on neurodiversity, as well as evidence-based ADHD and autism self-assessment tools that can help them decide whether a formal assessment is worth pursuing.
Support is also available through 40-minute one-to-one video consultations or secure text-based chat with neurodiversity practitioners, mental health specialists, ADHD and autism clinical leads and trained therapists. No appointment is needed. Following a consultation, clinicians can signpost employees to their GP, explain referral routes through private medical cover, or share details of discounted self-pay ADHD or autism assessments offered by Psychiatry UK. Support continues beyond diagnosis, covering coping strategies, workplace communication, and help with anxiety, stress, burnout and wider lifestyle wellbeing.
For employers, the service provides awareness materials and guidance to build a more inclusive culture, which can mean better staff engagement and retention.
The new service can also be combined with AXA Health’s existing neurodiversity assessment and support offering, which is available as an additional benefit through its corporate health insurance. It can help meet the cost of formal diagnosis for autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyscalculia, subject to a GP referral.
Heather Smith, CEO at AXA Health, said: “Supporting neurodiversity is a fundamental step toward creating truly inclusive workplaces where everyone has the opportunity to succeed and feel cared for and respected. Our neurodiversity everyday support is designed not just to raise awareness but to support real change, helping organisations to implement practical measures that encourage understanding and acceptance.”
Who can access it?
Where it’s in place, UK-based employees and one nominated person each can use AXA Health’s neurodiversity everyday support, as long as both are aged 18 or over. However, the service is only designed for larger employers, with AXA Health requiring a minimum of 2,000 employees and a 24-month minimum contract term.
Chris Steele, founder and editor of myTribe Insurance Experts, said:

“Workplace support for neurodivergent employees has lagged behind other areas of wellbeing for a long time, so it’s encouraging to see a major insurer put real resources behind it. What stands out is that it’s aimed at the whole workforce rather than only those who’ve already been diagnosed. It should make it easier for people to get support without first having to navigate what can be a long and difficult assessment process.”
