As Senior Editor, Richard Eagling brings more than two decades of personal finance editorial experience to the team. He has written extensively on protection, pensions, investments, and financial planning and has been a trusted media commentator across major UK outlets. Richard is passionate about helping people make informed financial decisions, drawing on his experience leading editorial strategy at organisations including Moneyfacts and NerdWallet UK.

Richard began his career in financial services at Virgin Money before joining Moneyfacts Group, where he spent over 20 years, ultimately serving as Editor of Investment Life & Pensions Moneyfacts. His work involved researching and reviewing financial products, editing contributions from industry experts, and representing the business at national events. He also created the Pension and Annuity Trends Treasury Report, a quarterly publication valued by the FCA, government departments, and pension providers alike.

Following his time at Moneyfacts, Richard joined NerdWallet UK, where he led editorial teams as Senior Editor and then Managing Editor. There, he developed high-performing personal finance content strategies, coached writers, and managed large-scale SEO and content migration projects.

A regular contributor to The Guardian, Financial Times, BBC, and Sky News, Richard is widely recognised for his ability to translate complex topics into accessible, actionable guidance. He holds the Financial Planning Certificate and was named runner-up in the Personal Finance Consumer Champion of the Year category at the Personal Finance Society Media Awards 2020.

Richard’s editorial approach balances regulatory precision with a strong consumer-first ethos. He is particularly skilled at identifying content gaps, shaping editorial roadmaps, and crafting content that helps UK consumers better understand financial products, especially in areas like health insurance, pensions, and long-term planning.
